(Did you know that there is a trout pond on the ground floor of the LL Bean Store in Freeport, Maine, and that they are open 365 days a year?.  This comes in real handy if you have to make a midnight run for some bright red long johns on Xmas Eve so you can play Santa if you don't have a costume....)

TOM SMITH's BIRTHDAY MAGAZINE COVER!
Tom Smith's birthday is August 22, so this year to surprise him, Suz created a very realistic magazine cover, and just as a spoof, sent it to all Tom's friends.  Well, guess it was a little TOO realistic, as Suz got several e-mails from folks wanting to know where to buy the magazine so they could read the articles about that famous wilderness guide, Tom Smith.  What a hoot!  Here's the fake magazine cover, and our sincere apologies to all those who made the trip to Borders Books looking for this "special" issue of National Wildlife Explorer!
